MP3 Audio

iStreamBox uses MPEG Audio Stream, Layer III to encode one or multiple audio sources and deliver them using ICECAST technologiesl. Using MP3 encoder web control panel you can customize your stream to the highest degree possible:

  • Number of channels used for encoding (one for mono or 2 for stereo)
  • Audio sample rate
  • Stream Bit Rate (from 8Kbps up to 320Kbps)
  • Bit Rate mode (constant, average or variable)
  • Encoding quality
  • Bits per sample
  • Low pass and High pass filters (in Hz)
  • Encoder Pre buffering
  • Arching options
  • Streaming server (iStreamBox internal server or any external compatible server)
  • Stream Info (name and metadata)
  • For Experts we can load custom made encoder configuration file
  • Scheduled encoding

Vorbis Audio

iStreamBox uses Vorbis also known as Ogg which is an open and standardized bitstream container format designed for streaming. ICECAST technologies are also used for broadcasting vorbos streams. User has the same possibilities as in MP3 case to customize and personalize his streams

Audio AAC/MP4

AAC stands for advanced audio coding and is the logical successor to MP3 (ISO/MPEG Audio Layer-3) for audio coding at medium to high bit rates. The idea of AAC's algorythm is to exploit two primary coding strategies to dramatically reduce the amount of data needed to convey high-quality digital audio. AAC has the sampling frequencies between 8 Hz and 96 kHz and any number of channels between 1 and 48.
